The Blood & Guts Award originated with the Kings County Lions RFC, and when they merged with the club in 1999 it was introduced. This award is given to a player who always gives 100% for his or her teammates during practice and games. This player rarely misses practice or games due to commitment or injury, and always gives his or her all at each.

Since 2006 this has become the Coach’s Award which goes to a player that makes a significant contribution to the team, whether it is on the field at games & practices or off the field.
